I am Hispanic and I grew up in the worst part of Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA), where both sides of the track, on the wrong side had to come out. Only three doors down from the railroad surveyor, as we all know that railways are dangerous, dirty and noisy places!
The region was mostly Hispanics and blacks, and it was a place where fear reigns! I live in this terrible journey in fourteen years of my life, and during this period, I was always looking for myshoulder, was a way of life for me! Gangs, drunks, prostitutes, drug dealers, mis-match, wino, beggars and hobos jumping off trains and comb the neighborhood for food and money! Other than that, it was a nice place for a child to grow up!
During this period in my life, I have the English language is not good (yet), and as a result of this, I had to learn to speak the language at a young age. I am a mixture of English and Spanish, hasCall … Spang-lish … and I is composed of words, as I progress.
When I was fourteen, my family moved out of this black hole, and the heights of Albuquerque, where the housing department has been called "Snow Heights. It was white when the snow is mostly a white neighborhood and come from a neighborhood primarily of Hispanics and blacks, it was definitely a culture shock for me! Children can be rough and tough when it comes to anger, and the children made fun of me all the time because I do notEnglish well.
Thus Spanish speakers has been put into oblivion, so I had to concentrate on learning to speak and write English. But able to understand and speak Spanish, has always been important to me. The most terrible thing that does not speak English well, was when I had to take part in a discussion in class or a book will hold an oral report. I was devastated the first time I was in front of the class and they have a book! The children were mocking andlaughed at me, and would have an influence on me in the future. This problem would plague me throughout middle school and high school
Month after month, year after year, I will listen to others speak, and I taught them how words express. I wanted to learn to speak and write English as well as I could, but I knew it was a difficult road. The writing of English was not so difficult for me because my teacher would only see my worketc.
Many years later, when I was in my forties, I took and completed two correspondence courses in writing and a class of creative writing at the University of New Mexico, to test my writing skills improved. I wanted to write to pursue in the future, and to write articles and a book in which I work. Writing is something I can do until you hang up my shoes, and computers now make it much easier. At the completion of two writing courses, gave me confidence in my site, withouthesitations, etc.
Write my final document for one of those correspondence courses, was a parody of English writing, and was rejected by my instructor. My instructor has a PhD in communications, probably loves the written word, and seems to find something funny about the piece is not. I happened to be in the business humor for forty years and I think that the English language is funny, sometimes … when spoken and written.
When children grow up and learn to speakThe English can be fun! One example was when my son, Jason, grew up, and he was about 3 or 4 years, and I want to share with you how he spoke and destroy the English language alone. Maybe you have a few fun things to talk about how he found the time. Eg
The word "wheat" Jason would not say "Silla". The name of the city, San Francisco, he would, "Sanchez-Frisco, the word" water Mellon, "JasonTo express, "said Meller-Mellon." Word would "helicopter" should be pronounced "hoptercopter." The words "Christmas tree" should be pronounced "Mimis tree." The words "French fries, would be" please ", chip chats are not." The old TV series, Startsky and Hutch, will be pronounced, foods rich in starch and Hutch. If someone wants to cut the grass, Jason would say, "lawnmowring. * Do you think that English is not illegal? Take a look in your medicine cabinet that! Medicines you can not pronounce or even right … write? omeprazoie, furosemide, metophrolol, losartan; buprepion. (Pleez!) I do not know how any farmacist can not!

* Do Your Own Thing: In the south it is pronounced, "make own thang!" So if someone in the southern part explains the word as it seems, the word "thing" should be spelled "thang!" Write?
