Although this book can make a little 'sick if you teach ESL to adults, you need it. (If you teach ESL to adolescents, you may need even more – but the book warns, can not be used without permission from the school board, and even then be careful.)

Readers are told that Elizabeth Claire "In the original edition of hazardous written English! Because he was too embarrassed to explain terms she knew that her students wanted and needed." Most ESLteachers are, and this book, we encounter there.

It begins with a discussion of the reasons why taboos exist and why people use it. Goes to cover mispronunciations innocently vulgar gestures, insults, ethnic, medical terms, political correctness, and much more. The long section entitled "Definitions and example sentences dangerous" is convenient for quick reference, with the name of the classification of words as a formal entry way, the general use, euphemism, the words of children, slang, orrough.

But as additional notes "90% of the languages offered, in fact, very clean." Dangerous Italian 2000! is not just an adventure of learning language, but a tool to build a more conventional vocabulary, too. The level of the text is generally done very late, but I will not hesitate to use in a class of lower level. Students do not need a whole book to read to learn from them, but obviously more than what they read, whichbetter.

The book is illustrated with black and white drawings, some of which are more explicit than what we used to see in teaching materials (for example, a man with a urinal, a child on the toilet, a naked man and a woman, with parts body label). They all get their message effectively. Sometimes, after all, words fail you.

The supplement is paid to the teacher and give any suggestions on how to treat this subject in the classroom, without losing a job: Make sure students justifywarning that offer an alternative activity for those not wishing to participate should not go ahead with a teacher of the opposite sex and about your students, men and women of the lesson.

Just to let your students know this book existed might not be enough.
